From the moment you arrive on the property you feel welcome. They approach you, while you are walking up with a glass of Sauv Blanc (BEFORE YOU EVEN GET TO THE DOOR)! The staff all have a big smile on their face and really put off the family vibe. One of the things I love about this place. The staff are all knowledgeable on the wine as well and happy to tell the story of MacRostie!

About the winery: "Over the past three decades, MacRostie Winery and Vineyards has established itself as one of the Sonoma Coast’s defining wineries, and a leader in a bright, balanced and age-worthy style of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Where MacRostie has led—both stylistically and geographically— others have followed. Today, MacRostie is guided jointly by Sonoma County visionary and winery founder Steve MacRostie, and talented up-and-coming winemaker Heidi Bridenhagen, who together, are making the finest Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs in the winery’s storied history. Using grapes farmed by legendary winegrowing families, including the Duttons, Sangiacomos, Martinellis and Bacigalupis, and from Steve’s own Wildcat Mountain Vineyard, MacRostie’s Sonoma Coast wines have established themselves as benchmarks, offering a rare intersection between labor-intensive small-lot winemaking, fair pricing and the complexity that can only be achieved by working with the finest vineyards."

Now for the wines! I love this place because everyone can find a wine that they enjoy here. From the Chardonnay's to the Pinots, you will not be disappointed!

The two I LOVED (it was a hard choice)

2015 Wildcat Mountain Vineyard Pinot Noir: Loved this one, I know this Pinot will be a crowd pleaser for sure with my friends! On the palate, velvety tannins make the juicy berry flavors come out. This wine will also age really well!

2015 Hellenthal Vineyard Pinot Noir: My boyfriend had really been wanting to try a pinot from Fort Ross. We were very surprised how much we loved this Pinot! Very well rounded pinot with velvety tannins. This is another one that will age well!

If you are out in Healdsburg, or have never been to Healdsburg, I highly recommend going to MacRostie. You will not be disappointed. Let me know what you think when you visit!

One thing I love getting to experience is feeling like you are out in the vineyards while visiting a tasting room -- and Hanna Winery is perfect for that! This super cute and quaint tasting room in Santa Rosa is a perfect stop while you are visiting Sonoma. They also have another location in Alexander Valley (about 10 min outside of Healdsburg) that I will be sure to visit as well.

Good for:

Small groups: 4-8 (call ahead if you want a larger group)

Girls Day Out

Fast Casual -- if you are looking for a place to quickly taste they can always serve you at the counter!

The Staff: Incredibly nice staff, willing to answer any questions, willing to tailor your experience to your liking, and best of all they make you feel right at home!

The Wines: Okay now lets get to the good stuff. THE WINE. Hanna is well known for their flagship wines and their Sauvignon Blanc is the wine that put them on the map. (You should be able to find this at your local wine shop! Or even grocery store in some cities!)

My Two Favorite Wines:

2015 Bismark Cabernet Sauvignon: Variety: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Malbec, 8% Cabernet Franc. Loved this Cab! This is one to enjoy now, or lay it down for another 5 years and it will drink great. This cab is full bodied and would be great with steak.

2014 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon: 75% Cabernet Sauvignon; 17% Malbec, 4% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot. This one is a great cab blend. I get hints of blackberry in here, this is a great full bodied cab that I really enjoyed!

Some days they have the Merlot open and if they do -- you should DEFINITELY try it! It was a favorite of mine as well.

About the winery: "HANNA Winery was founded in 1985 by Dr. Elias Hanna, a world famous cardiac surgeon who was eager to find a place in the country to continue the farming heritage of his upbringing. His daughter, Christine Hanna, took over management of the winery in 1991, and guided the winery’s expansion to become an iconic producer of Sauvignon Blanc, as well as handcrafted estate grown Burgundy and Bordeaux varieties." One of the things I love most about this winery is the welcoming family characteristics that the employees share with all of their guests. Everyone that works there loves it and that made the experience even better! Highly recommend this place to anyone that is visiting the Sonoma area. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

They have a great shaded outdoor seating area, so relaxing and quiet!

Cheers my winos!

Highlights: Hip ambiance, super relaxing, thoughtfully set up, friendly staff (and owners!), and great wine!

I don't even know where to start with Reeve....the ambiance, the people, the wine, the property...ALL AMAZING.

Great For:

-Groups of almost any size, I think 4-6 people is the perfect number for this setting

-Girls day out

-Double Date

This property is filled with vineyards, a stunning tasting room and patio, picnic tables, garden (you can even pick flowers!), amazing staff, and is dog friendly! I mean you really don't need to read much more because with all of that said why would you not visit this tasting room?

If you are looking for a relaxing tasting experience were the bar isn't crowded or a loud tasting room, Reeve is your place to visit. The patio is shaded very nicely and is fantastic on a nice day! Or even on a hot day it stays well shaded!

What I loved the most is that the staff (Sam was our host) really made sure you were comfortable and made the property feel like home. She was so sweet, attentive, knowledgable, and really made the experience that much more enjoyable.

About Reeve:

In 2015 he owner/wine maker Noah and his wife, Kelly, started Reeve after working at Banchee Winery (where Noah was the co-founder and head winemaker and Kelly helped launch the tasting room and wine club). So needless to say they were VERY qualified to start a Winery to call their own. The name Reeve comes from their 5 year old son. I had the pleasure of meeting both Reeve and Noah while I was visiting. A very sweet family!

Two wines I want to talk about:

2017 Vecino Vineyard Rosé of Pinot Noir: Aromas of strawberry and berries. Very easy drinking rosé, the perfect blend of dry and sweetness. Y'all know I don't like a super sweet rosé and this one was PERFECT!

2015 Windsor Oaks Sangiovese: Okay if you have not tried a Sangiovese, this is one worth starting with! This was the groups favorite wine of the day and a perfect red to have with dinner or just sitting on your couch! "This wine shows off the balance between deep fruit and a high-wire acidity act making extremely versatile and age worthy."
